The Nikon Film and Photo Contest 2024-2025 is an internationally recognized competition that invites both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic amateurs from across the globe to showcase their creativity in photography and filmmaking. Organized by Nikon, a trusted name in imaging technology, the contest celebrates visual artistry by encouraging participants to express new perspectives and emotions through their work. For this milestone 40th edition, the contest has been rebranded to emphasize Nikon’s commitment to both the photographic and filmmaking communities, providing a broad platform for diverse visual storytelling.

This year’s contest theme, "Inspire," seeks entries that provoke thought, elicit emotions, and inspire audiences to view the world from new angles. The Nikon Film and Photo Contest is divided into two main categories, each designed to highlight different aspects of visual art. The Short Film Competition includes a Super-Short Film category (20 to 40 seconds) and a 5-Minute Film category (3 to 5 minutes), inviting filmmakers to convey powerful narratives within concise time frames. Meanwhile, the Photo Competition includes both a Single Photo category and a Photo Story category, where participants can submit a sequence of two to five images that together tell a captivating story. Each submission is a unique opportunity to capture moments that resonate on a global stage.

For participants, the Nikon Film and Photo Contest offers more than just recognition—it provides a chance to gain significant exposure and share their work with an international audience. Winning entries are promoted worldwide, underscoring Nikon’s mission to support and amplify creative voices. With a user-friendly online entry system and no submission fees, Nikon ensures that the contest is accessible to artists from all walks of life, regardless of age, nationality, or professional experience. This prestigious contest not only rewards winners with valuable Nikon equipment and cash prizes but also supports a thriving community of visual storytellers, making it a cornerstone event for photographers and filmmakers around the world.
