Art Icon
Art_icon is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering new talents in the visual arts. Our mission is to foster connections between emerging artists and established figures in the art world, bringing them together in a unified exhibition.

The exhibition “Corporeality” will be held in Paris, parallel to the important photography fair Paris-Photo, in a stunning 19th century building with more than 1000 square meters of exhibition space. We invite photographers and artists from all over the world to apply for participation in the first edition of our project. This year's theme is “Corporeality”. We welcome applications that cover a wide range of representations of the body - be it full-length images, portraits, detailed studies of body parts, or any other creative expression that embodies the theme of corporeality.

‍Why participate? By joining the Art_icon 2024 exhibition, you will have the opportunity to:
- Be part of the most important cultural event in the world parallel to Paris Photo Days 2024.
- Exposure: Showcase your work alongside distinguished photographers and artists.
- Visibility: Show your work to collectors, gallery owners, and industry leaders.
- Sales Opportunity: Sell your work with no commission taken by Art-icon, as we are a non-profit organization.
- Publication: Be featured in a printed catalogue alongside renowned artists.

Corporeality: Tracing the Evolution of the Human Body in Art and Technology
‍ The project aims to trace the transformation of the representation of the human body from the 20th century to the present day through the development of photography, performance art and digital technologies.
‍ The concepts of the body and corporeality have been interpreted in various ways throughout human history. Each era has created its own motifs of the aesthetic ideal of the human body in the form of canonical images and works of art that have served as a tool for defining the identity of self and otherness. ‍
Since the advent of photography and its dissemination through the media, the relationship to the body has changed rapidly. The emergence of computerized images, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence has greatly increased the flow of new images, displacing materiality and diminishing the importance of physical presence compared to two-dimensional representations. This shift creates conditions for transforming not only the perception of corporeality but also the body itself.
